Rupert Jordan “Buddy” Simmons, Jr. passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024. Buddy is survived by his wife of 50 years, LeAnn Simmons of DeRidder, LA; three daughters, Jennifer Marie Thompson & Eugene of Rosepine, LA, Shanna Sherrie’ Shirley & Merida of Rosepine, LA, and Clara Joyce “CJ” Simmons & Dewey Pittman of Rosepine, LA; seven grandchildren, Steven Lee Thompson & Angel, Cristyn Brooke Thompson, Seth Allen Shirley & Jaila, Shaylee Jordan Shirley, Morgan Jade Slocum, Beaux Dawson Simmons, and Attley Sherrie’ Shirley; three great-grandchildren, Lane Marshall Thompson, Skyleigh Rayne Thompson, and Greyson Lee Shirley; two brothers, David Simmons & Linda of Rosepine, LA and Charles Simmons & Linda of North Port, FL; four sisters-in-law, Grace Brooks & Bruce of Slagle, LA, Carla Thompson & James of DeRidder, LA, Martha E. Slaydon of DeRidder, LA, and Vicky Horsley & Merle of Rosepine, LA; cousin, James O. Simmons & Bobbie of DeRidder, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
