Richard Wayne Sigler

Richard Wayne Sigler, 54, of Grant, went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Lake Charles.  He was a resident of Grant, Louisiana for 16 years.  His visitation will be Thursday, June 22, from 9am until time of service at Palestine Baptist Church.  Funeral service will be Thursday, June 22, at 11am at Palestine.  Interment will be at Palestine Cemetery.  Rev. Hardy Estes will officiate. Richard was born in Oakdale and has lived in various places including Huntsville, Alabama, Austin, Texas, and Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Sigler; sister, Sharon Walker; and nieces and nephews, Haley, Megan, and Joshua Walker.  He also leaves behind several uncles, aunts, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, John Sigler. Although Richard did not have a “career” in the workforce, he did work in sheltered workshops in both Baton Rouge and Dallas.  Most importantly, he was an important and cherished part of his family and beloved by all.  He helped those who knew him to better understand the important things in life.
