James William Choat

James William Choat, 80, of DeRidder, LA passed away Friday, May 1, 2026.  Visitation will be Friday, May 8 from 10am-1pm at Grace Church.  Celebration of Life will be Friday, May 8 at 1pm at Grace Church.  Rev. George Lee Glass will officiate.

James is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pat Choat of DeRidder, LA; two sons, Kevin Choat & Leslie of DeRidder, LA and Freddie Choat of DeRidder, LA; six grandchildren, Trenton Choat of Durant, OK, Russell Choat & Kaleigh of DeRidder, LA, Elizabeth Choat of DeRidder, LA, Eric Choat of Michigan, Preston Choat of Kentucky, and Conner Choat of Sulphur Springs, TX; three great-granddaughters, Rilynn, Huntley, and Delilah; and adopted son, Chris Willis & Teresa of Merryville, LA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray & Freda Choat; and son, Terry Choat.
