Daniel Lamar Byles

Daniel Lamar Byles, 65, of DeRidder, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 at his home.  Services are private. Daniel is survived by his wife, Linda C. Byles of DeRidder. Dan was a Vietnam veteran who served in the Marine Corp.  After two tours in Vietnam, he returned home to attend college at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.  After receiving his degree, he entered the Army.  Upon completion of his time in the Army, he married his wife, Linda. Dan had many interests, one being travel.  He was able to travel several places throughout his lifetime:  Russia, Germany, Ireland,and England, but the one that was the dearest was Vietnam.  He was fortunate enough to go back to Vietnam in 2013 and see the country again that he had fought in, with open eyes and renewed interests.
