Dakota Wayne Betts

With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Dakota "Bub" Wayne Betts. Born on December 12th, 1991, in Bellaire, Ohio. Dakota left us too soon on July 16th, 2026. At only 34 years old; he made a big impact on everyone that knew him. He had a kind heart and soul that will forever be missed. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday July 24, 2026 at 3:00 PM in the Chaddick Funeral Home chapel. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 11:00 AM until the time of service. 

Dakota lived in DeRidder La. He was a cross country truck driver which was a job that he loved and embraced with passion and dedication. Dakota loved his dogs Molly and Diesel who also passed away with him. He enjoyed grilling with family for celebrations and when he had time off work. He had a way of lighting up a room and having fun with the people he loved. All of those fond memories will forever remain with us. 

Left to cherish his memory are his mother and stepfather: Lavita Nicole and Kenneth Pugh Sr. of Deridder; father: John Betts of Deridder; daughter: Kaylee Nicole Betts of Amite, La.; sister: Tiffany Mendoza (Daniel Jr.) of Deridder; the love of his life: Kimberly Brinkley of Deridder; step-sisters: Amanda Pugh and Sena Daw of Alabama; nephews: Adrian Betts, Daniel Mendoza lll, Liam Mendoza of Deridder; step-grandmother: Nadine Pugh of Deridder; his close uncle James Hoffman and a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, aunt, cousins and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his great-grandmother: Joyce Tolar; grandfather: Charles Cline; grandparents: Richard and Margaret Hoffman; step-brother: Kenneth Ray Pugh Jr.
