Albert Raye Mikkelsen

Albert Raye Mikkelsen, 82, of DeRidder, LA, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at his home.  Visitation was Tuesday, August 14 from 5-8pm at Chaddick Funeral Home.  A private family service was held Wednesday, August 15 at 10am at Chaddick Funeral Home.  Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Pastor Kermit Bostelman and Rev. George Lee Glass officiated. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Helen J. Mikkelsen of DeRidder, LA; one daughter, Stacee Dawn Wagner & Christopher of DeRidder, LA; three sons, Danny Raye Mikkelsen of DeRidder, LA, John Scott Mikkelsen & Melissa Ann of DeRidder, LA, and Chad Lee Mikkelsen of Rosepine, LA; three grandchildren, Sean Mikkelsen, Christian Mikkelsen, and Emily Mikkelsen; and one sister, Alice Faye Mikkelsen Lapp of Phoenix, AZ. Mike was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and his compassionate spirit.  He was born and raised in Minnesota, served in the military, met his wife and made Louisiana his home.  His love and devotion to his family was immeasurable.  He was also an avid Minnesota Vikings and Gophers fan.  He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Mable Mikkelsen; his sister, Rose Amy Thorstenson; and his brother, Donald H. Mikkelsen. Condolences can be made at chaddickfuneralhome.com
